CSR Report: what was the impact of MesOpinions on society in 2022?
At MesOpinions, we believe that a company's success is not only measured by its financial performance. This is especially true for companies whose mission is of social utility.
To reiterate our mission: to enable citizens to be heard in their fight, until victory, for more democracy and solidarity.
In this article, we share a retrospective of the year 2022, where we measure the impact our activity has had on society at large: from the well-being of our employees to our environmental impact, including the social advancements achieved through our petitions.
In 2022, MesOpinions supported 100 petitions to victory.
Of these 100 petitions, 48 significantly advanced social justice or environmental protection. Among the most notable examples:
The petition “Child Sexual Abuse: for the deprogramming of Bastien Vivès' exhibition at the Angoulême Comic Festival”.
Arnaud Gallais, supported by many personalities such as the cartoonist Emma, Senator Iacovelli, MP Rousseau, and even activist Caroline de Haas, mobilised over 100,000 signatories for the protection of children and against the culture of incest. By shining a light on the dangerous and sometimes harassing comments of the cartoonist, they achieved victory in a week. A success for the protection of child victims of incest and women who still suffer harassment.
The petition Act to save the Koalas from Extinction!
Victory for the IFAW association and the 38,000 signatories of its petition! This year, the Australian government agreed to change the status of the Koala from "Vulnerable" to "Endangered". This reclassification now ensures it greater protection: a real advancement for biodiversity.
13 classes have been kept open following petitions hosted on MesOpinions
Like the Petits Albins school, the school of 183 students from Lucie Aubrac in Reugny, or the kindergarten ofErmenouville. These local petitions are crucial to ensure the proper education of children. They also prove that even with few signatures, victory is possible when citizens are engaged.
Well-being at work and gender equality
Beyond our mission, MesOpinions aims to create a fulfilling and inclusive work environment for its employees - and female employees! 47% of our staff are women - as well as 50% of our staff in management positions.
We are also proud to track our teams' satisfaction score twice a year and to see it increase. Between 2021 and 2022, we gained 4 points on our NPS - with particularly caring management, as the average score on the question “does your manager support you?” was 9.05 / 10.
Environmental protection
This year, we implemented several measures to limit our environmental impact.
We first conducted our first Carbon Assessment. Result: 241 tonnes of CO2 produced in 2021 - or 9.7 tonnes per employee.
We are well below the industry average, which is around 37 tonnes per employee. Nevertheless, this remains too high given the climate crisis we are facing.
To achieve carbon neutrality by 2050 and limit global warming to 1.5°C in accordance with the Paris Agreement, we have set a target of reducing 15 tonnes of CO2 per year.
To achieve this, we have already adopted the following measures - and encourage all companies that can to do the same:
the prohibition of business travel by plane when a less carbon-intensive alternative is available (train, carpooling… or video conferencing!)
the hosting of all our data in France, where electricity is less carbon-intensive, thus limiting our digital footprint
the possibility to work from home 2 days a week to limit commuting by car
the subsidisation of commuting by bike
We have also renovated our offices to limit their impact: insulation, installation of recycling bins, a composter, timers on power strips, thermostats on radiators…
