Since the helmet model "Ecrin Roc" is no longer sold and has been replaced by Spelios (leisure) or Vertex helmets (pro), caving community sends many criticisms related to his experience.
First of all :
- Because we can no longer insert the safety blanket because of the polystyrene shell (risk of significant forgetfulness).
- Because this same floating cap is unnecessary and uncomfortable especially in cave diving,
- Because the Spelios is not stable enough on the head, which is dangerous when anyone has to move open jugular (narrow area with risk of jamming of the helmet).
- Because some cavers have difficulties in helmet properly positioning on their ears because of the side design (for the optional earmuffs). This helmet design also reduces side protection of the ears in close progression.
But also :
- Because the Spelios is much less easy to adjust than the yellow wheel adjustment system of the "Ecrin Roc".
- Because these lightweight helmets give the impression of being less protectives (psychological discomfort).
- More generaly because these helmets don't have a lovely caving look and specially the Vertex helmet placed very high on the head (gives a strange look to many wearers).
In summary, new helmets seem unsuited to specific conditions of use in caving and their structure (shape, adjustment system and internal shell) inconsistent with our security requirements.
So, we old or current users of the helmet model "Ecrin Roc", are waiting impatiently for the return of this helmet on the market.

Dado que el modelo de casco "Ecrin Roc" ya no se vende y se ha sustituido por cascos Spelios (socios) o Vertex (pro), la comunidad espeleo expresa críticas sobre la base de su experiencia.
En primer lugar :
- Porque ya no podemos poner en el casco a la manta de supervivencia, por culpa de la almohadilla interna de poliestireno expandido (riesgo del olvido significativo).
- Debido a que esta misma almohadilla flotante no sirve de nada y es problemática especialmente para bucear en cuevas.
- Debido a que el Spelios no es suficientemente estable en la cabeza que es peligroso cuando uno tiene que moverse yugular abierta (área estrecha con el riesgo de bloqueo del casco).
- Debido a que algunos tienen dificultades para posicionar correctamente el casco en sus oídos debido al blanco para los dispositivos opcionales de protección contra el ruido. También causa menos protección lateral de las orejas arrastrándose.
Pero también :
- Porque el dispositivo de ajuste del Spelios es mucho menos conveniente que las ruedas amarillas de regulación del "Ecrin Roc".
- Debido a que estos cascos ligeros dan la impresión de ser menos protectores (malestar psicológico).
- Porque el Vertex que ocupa un lugar muy alto en la cabeza nos da una mirada fea y que, por regla general, estos cascos no tienen un look espeleológico como el "Ecrin Roc".
En resumen, los nuevos cascos parecen inadecuados para las condiciones específicas de uso en espeleología y su estructura (forma, ajuste y almohadilla interna) incompatible con nuestros requisitos de seguridad.
Nosotros, antiguos o actuales usuarios del modelo "Ecrin Roc", estamos ansiosos por el regreso del casco en el mercado.
