Forum Citoyens Tunisiens Indépendants

Nous, citoyennes et citoyens tunisiens, signataires de la présente pétition, affirmons :
• notre foi dans les principes de la Révolution du peuple tunisien, qui a rompu de façon totale et définitive avec le régime dictatorial précédent, et qui aspire à l’établissement d’un système politique moderne et progressiste,
• notre attachement indéfectible au principe de la souveraineté du peuple et au droit de ce dernier à la détermination de son propre devenir politique,
et appelons à une élection, dans les plus brefs délais, d’une Assemblée Nationale Constituante qui élaborera une nouvelle constitution posant les fondements d’un système politique démocratique et pluraliste, rompant ainsi avec tout pouvoir autocratique, et préservant les acquis du peuple tunisien.

The Forum of Independent Tunisian Citizens

We, Tunisian citizens, signatories of the present petition, affirm:
• Our faith in the principles of the Tunisian people’s Revolution, which had utterly and definitely broken with the previous regime's oppressive dictatorship, and which desire is to institute a modern and progressive political system,

• Our faith in the principles of popular sovereignty and the right of the people to determine their own political future,

and consider that there is an absolute necessity for the election of a National Constituent Assembly in the shortest time possible, which will elaborate a new Constitution, setting up the bases of a democratic and pluralist political system, thus severing from any autocratic power, and preserving all of the social and political gains of the Tunisian people.
