I am writing because two innocent American citizens were killed by federal agents in Minneapolis, and I am devastated and outraged. Alex Jeffrey Pretti, a 37-year-old ICU nurse, was shot ten times in the back today while pinned to the ground and unarmed. This death follows the killing of Renee Nicole Good just 17 days earlier. These are not isolated incidents. Families are grieving, communities are fearful, and trust in law enforcement is collapsing. I feel anger, pain, and a desperate need for truth. I demand an immediate independent investigation, the removal of federal immunity for these agents, and full accountability from the Department of Homeland Security to stop the militarization and state-sanctioned violence in our cities.
I ask specific authorities to act now. An independent, civilian-led federal inquiry must open immediately and be fully transparent. Congress must hold hearings and pass legislation to revoke unchecked federal immunity for ICE and Border Patrol agents when they commit crimes. DHS must implement de-escalation training, require body cameras with public release policies, and end deployment of military-style equipment in civilian neighbourhoods. Local and state prosecutors must be empowered to investigate and prosecute federal agents when warranted. Independent oversight boards with subpoena power will monitor compliance and report publicly. These measures will create accountability, protect residents, and prevent further deaths.
Please sign this petition to demand these actions from elected officials and federal leaders. Share this petition widely and contact your representatives today. Time is urgent. Every additional day without accountability risks more lives and more harm. I will keep pushing until there is justice for Alex Pretti and Renee Good. Thank you for standing with their families and for demanding change now.
