Soutenez les victimes d'abus de Droits Humains Fort-Dauphin Madagascar Octobre 2023

STATEMENT

We, the natives of the Anosy Region (Madagascar) diaspora, the Malagasy friends and relatives living abroad, strongly condemn the abuses and human rights violations on the people of Anosy following a demonstration by the LUSUD association. Following our investigation on this Fort-Dauphin black Friday on October 20, 2023 we are convinced that the use of live bullet by military forces, has not been justified in any way and certainly not legally justified.  Accordingly, we demand that Malagasy authorities actively search for the perpetrators of these heinous acts to avoid a worsening of the situation that might lead to a civil war.

The current official death toll is three people:

• DAMY was shot and died from his wounds and internal bleeding 
  

• Andriamamonjy Jean Solomon an elder and spokesperson of the Association during this peaceful demonstration was arrested and forced to crawl on the asphalt from Maroamalona to the military fort/barrack. He was beaten to death and was unconscious when the military deposited him at the hospital. He never regained consciousness and died during the night. The corpse had a stitched hole on his head, and another hole on the temple. The family reported that his neck is fractured.
  
• Rasolonirina Francia, was reportedly shot dead at point blank range.
  

On these serious facts, which are still unpublished in the Anosy Region, we urge the entire diaspora and all those affected by these abuses to condemn these acts by signing this petition. We are also humbly asking you to contribute to a donation for the family and show the world our solidarity to the victims and their family.

COMMUNIQUE

Nous, Diaspora Natifs de la Région Anosy Madagascar et le peuple Malagasy amis et proches à l’extérieur, après avoir enquété et plusieurs fois investigué sur l’affaire du Vendredi Noir 20 octobre 2023 à Fort-Dauphin sommes convaincus que les utilisations de balles réelles provenant des forces de l’ordre n’a été aucunement justifié vis-à-vis de la législation Malagasy et condamnons fermement les abus de droit humains de fait  sur le peuple de l’Anosy suite à une manifestation de l’Association LUSUD (Lutte pour le SUD).  En conséquence, nous encourageons vivement les autorités Malagasy à rechercher activement les auteurs de ces actes odieux afin d’éviter une dégénération de la situation en guerre civile.

Le bilan actuel fait état de trois personnes mortes dont :

• Monsieur DAMY a reçu une balle et a succombé à ses blessures.
  
• Monsieur Andriamamonjy Jean Solomon un Notable et porte-parole de l’Association durant ces manifestations pacifiques : Arrêté par la police et trainé sur la rue par les forces de l’ordre à Maroamalona Fort-Dauphin et ensuite tabassés à mort au camps militaire sans motif. Le haut de la tête et la tempe sont troués, le cervical était cassé selon la famille.
  
• Madame Rasolonirina Francia, son épaule gauche a été tordue et cassée et ensuite tué par balle sur place.
  

Sur ces faits graves encore inédits dans la Région Anosy, nous exhortons toute la diaspora et toutes les personnes touchées par ces abus de condamner ces actes en signant cette pétition. Nous vous sollicitions aussi à contribuer via la collecte de dons pour aider la famille des victimes afin de montrer aux yeux du Monde notre solidarité.
