We Support the Demands of Political Prisoners and Prisoners of Conscience on Hunger Strike in Iran
For over two months, several political prisoners and prisoners of conscience in Iran have been on hunger strike to demand their basic human rights.
The Islamic Republic of Iran is responsible for endangering the lives of Arash Sadeghi, Saeed Shirzad, Ali Shariati, Mohammad Taheri and several other human rights activists who are currently on the verge of dying.
A group of families of martyrs and political prisoners in Iran have issued an open letter condemning the inhumane pressures placed on the prisoners while requesting the prisoners to end their strike. Following up with that letter, we declare our support for the demands of the prisoners on strike and commit to continue our efforts for achieving their demands even if they end their hunger strike. Their lives are very precious to us; we want them to know that we stand with them, will be their voice, and will continue our efforts to attain their rights. We would like to request our country fellows and everyone who cares for human dignity and freedom, including members of the UN, to join us in supporting the demands of these prisoners.
