Great Yarmouth and Waveney clinical commissioning Group (CCG

Greyfriars has been serving the community of Great Yarmouth and surrounding areas for the past 6 years seeing in total 180,000 walk in patients. We have heard that Great Yarmouth and Waveney clinical commissioning Group (CCG) are planning not to renew the contract for Greyfriars.

How does that impact on Great Yarmouth and you.

1. Registered patients may have to register elsewhere.

2. Walk in patients will have to travel to James Paget Hospital to be seen. This would mean taking a bus at £4.20 return or driving and then paying extortionate parking charges. Seasonal visitors will have to travel further to be seen.

3. Who will look after the homeless patients? Currently Greyfriars have 71 vulnerable patients who are homeless. These patients don’t have the financial status to take themselves on the bus to Gorleston.

4. Greyfriars runs the violent patient scheme (SAS), will another practice want to take this. I don’t think so.

Your support is vital and we need as many people on board as possible to stop the CCG closing our surgery
