We thank the organizers and the Community of Communes of the Pays de Fontainebleau for having allowed the Festival Django Samois-sur-Seine 2016 in Fontainebleau following the dramatic flood episode of last year and are aware of the technical and security constraints now applicable to this type of event.
However…
- Because without the Festival Django Samois-sur-Seine will disappear in the anonymity of the communes of the suburb of Fontainebleau, the economic life of the village with, our commune adopting more a status Dormitory Village than the recently acquired Village of Character,
- Because Django Festival in Samois it’s life, an exceptional event coming out of the beaten track of big cities and impersonal musical programs,
- Because Django Festival in Samois it’s 37 years of magical alchemy between culture and nature bringing together the best artists of the genre in a unique setting between the Seine and the forest,
- Because this twist of fate can be the start of a new adventure doubled with a return to the original spirit of Festival Django,
- Because Django is Samois-sur-Seine and Samois-sur-Seine is Django,
... we ask all actors and decision-makers of the Samois-sur-Seine Commune to take the necessary steps to ensure the fitting-up of the Festival and to allow a major Django musical event to take place in our municipality in the coming years , after the transition of the 2017 edition.
