For several weeks, the publication of American court documents related to the Jeffrey Epstein case has shed light on the relationships maintained for several years between Epstein and a French diplomat, Fabrice Aidan, who was then stationed at the United Nations.
These documents reveal regular exchanges, the use of an official professional address, as well as the transmission of information in a context that is now seriously questioned. They also remind us that, as early as 2013, concerning elements, particularly related to suspicions of cyberpedophilia, were known to certain authorities.
Yet:
No serious legal proceedings have been initiated.
No significant administrative sanctions have been taken.
The diplomat in question has been transferred, continuing his career within the state apparatus.
In France, nearly 700 reports related to sexual violence against minors are made every day. In 2019, France was the third country in the world in terms of sites hosting child sexual exploitation content. In this context, any form of complacency is unacceptable.
Our demands
Through this petition, we solemnly request:
That Fabrice Aidan be brought to justice, so that the full light is shed on his role and responsibilities.
The immediate opening of an independent administrative investigation into his management by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Legal action against the French state for having retained and transferred a diplomat with knowledge of serious elements.
That all individuals who were aware of these facts without taking action be heard by the justice system.
The establishment of an independent inquiry commission into the links between certain French institutions and the influence environment of Jeffrey Epstein.
The implementation of strong guarantees to ensure that such failings do not happen again.
Our commitment
By signing this petition, we affirm that sexual crimes against children cannot be minimised and that no public official should be above the law. Because protecting children is not an option.
