Petition to end the organized fight on horseback forever
Network For Animals needs your help to put an end to the brutal blood of organized horse fights in Italy.
The sound of the cheers echoes in the arena, from a crowd of players, gangsters, families and even young children. In each fight, two innocent stallions are made to brutally fight over a poor mare, paraded before them as their "prize".
During a weekend horse party, more than seventy stallions will enter horrible fighting, and each mare will be subjected to repeated encounters by the "winner" of each fight. No horse really wins in the organized fight on horseback. It is a sport of blood that must end.
"Horses fight in the wild, but stallions are sometimes organized by humans for entertainment.
Organized combat on horseback is a blood sport between two stallions that is organized for betting or entertainment purposes. Although horse-breeding occurs naturally in nature, death or serious injury in natural animal combat is almost always avoided by ritualized behavior or withdrawal of one of the fighters.
Combat often takes place in a closed circle, which prevents the most subdued stallion from retreating, as in a natural competition. Two stallions and a mare in heat are brought into the ring by human manipulators. The mare is then removed, but kept closed so that its smell persists, although in some fights it is attached to a pole in the center of the ring. At this stage, stallions often attack each other spontaneously. Those who are not whipped or surprised by loud noises to provoke them into delirium. Horse fights can be organized in rounds or single fights. "
Animal Network fights against illegal cruelty, but endemic in Italy, and taking a stand means going against organized crime in an area where the weapon is the norm, not the exception. Sincerely,
