It’s 2025. There is no excuse for animal cruelty in the name of fashion.
Each year, millions of wild animals including foxes, minks, chinchillas, and raccoon dogs are bred or trapped for one reason only: their fur.
While fur farming is banned in the UK, the sale and import of fur products continues, allowing this cruelty to thrive overseas with the UK’s permission.
This is not just hypocrisy. It’s complicity.
Behind every fur trim, lining, or luxury label lies a system of extreme suffering:
Tiny metal cages where animals spend their entire lives without stimulation
Painful deaths through gassing, electrocution, or crude trapping
Global environmental damage, driven by industrial fur production in countries like China, Finland, Poland, and the USA
The UK has already taken a stand by banning domestic fur farms. Now, it's time to finish what we started and stop importing the cruelty we once rejected.
We call on the UK government to:
Ban the import and sale of all real fur products in the UK
Close the loopholes that allow cruelty to enter through the back door
Stand with the British public, over 75% of whom support a full fur ban
By doing so, the UK can once again lead the world in ethical animal protection.
Countries and regions like California, Israel, and France are already moving toward fur-free futures. The UK has the opportunity to take a bold, final step — and become the first country to completely shut its borders to the fur trade.
It’s not about fashion. It’s about values.
No animal should suffer or die for a coat.
Let’s end our double standards.
Let’s stop outsourcing cruelty.
Let’s ban fur — for good.
This campaign is backed by citizens, campaigners, animal welfare experts, and voices across the political spectrum. Join thousands who have already said: “Not in our name.”
Curious what the fur trade looks like behind closed doors?
Footage from investigations around the world has revealed the horrific conditions inside fur farms and trapping operations.
You can find video evidence, testimonies, and expert reports on sites like PETA UK, Humane Society International, and Open Cages.
