Let's protect our natural heritage: stop the hunting of endangered species!
Today, I am speaking to our government in France, but also to all governments in the world, as well as to every citizen of our planet, to defend our universal heritage: wildlife and biodiversity.
For too long, hypocritical practices have persisted: there are claims to protect endangered species, but at the same time, wealthy hunters continue to massacre them. Lions, sometimes raised in cruel and artificial conditions, are imported into our country, all too often with the passive complicity of customs. These animals, accustomed to human presence, have no chance against these “hunters” in search of trophies.
It's not hunting, it's organized slaughter.
It is intolerable to see our planet and its creatures sacrificed in the name of profit, power, or pseudo-prestige. Our responsibility is immense: to protect these species and their habitats, and to refuse to allow our territory to be used as an accomplice in such practices
.What we are asking for:
strict ban on hunting and the import of endangered species, regardless of the country of origin;
Firm
sanctions against the trade in wild animals intended for leisure activities or trophies;
A drastic strengthening of customs controls, to stop the entry of these animals into our territory;
The end of all direct or indirect complicity with the trophy hunting industry
.Our planet does not belong to us, we are its guardians.
I call on every citizen to sign this petition, to share this message, and to refuse to be a spectator of these crimes against nature. Together, let's make our voices heard for a future in which animals are no longer victims of human greed
