Stop the slaughter in Taiji

I am sharing my dismay about the slaughter which is happening regularly in the Bay of Taiji in Japan.

How can we remain indifferent to such horror?

The report "The Cove" as you may already know, perfectly demonstrates this unspeakable horror! These shrill cries from this bay which gradually changes red in colour due to the blood of the slaughtered dolphins.
The only purpose of this massacre is to capture the younger animals to replenish water parks and dolphinariums!

There is a huge water tank of concrete, where those who were captured will be sequestered. In this tank, they will then be starved so that they perform circus acts to perfection which are inflicted on them.

A "life" that is completely opposite to their life in the wild, so much so that they let themselves die or die of infections and various diseases.

During their captivity, tossed from one park to another, they suffer painful separations with peers with whom, after many difficulties (languages), they have managed to create bonds of affection. Captured and survivors remain forever traumatised by the sudden and violent loss of their loved ones!

Do not let this happen more, this has gone on too long!

Dolphins, killer whales and other wild animals, do not belong in captivity! Let them live peacefully in their natural environment: it is their place!

An Indian proverb clearly shows what awaits us if we persist in our selfishness: "When the last fish is caught, the last dry river, the last tree cut down, the man finally will realise that money is not edible”.

Let future generations have the chance to experience all the beauty that nature offers us! For this to be possible, we must allow nature to exist in its own right and leave it as it is!
