For the respect of animals who are not toys. Say no to circuses with animals!

Shows including animals are going against children education concerning nature respect and protection. All they can see is animals dominated by force.
Do you think demonstrating the oppression of the weakest is what they should see?

Most people do not really know what is going on behind the scenes of those circuses with animals. They think there is a beautiful complicity between the beast and tamer, they are just blinded by those shows with animals. The reality is different and much sadder than what the shows foreshadow.

On the July 21, 2011, Peru established an exemplary law in banishing the wild animals use in circuses of the country, which is a huge victory for every exploited and suffering animals.

33 rescued lions coming from South America arrived on Saturday night in South Africa where they are going to be released in a natural reserve.

When these lions from Peru arrived at the Johannesburg Airport, they seemed healthy, just a little bit disturbed by the journey, said the President of the ADI (Animal Defenders International), the NGO in charge of this operation called “Esprit de liberté” (Freedom Spirit).

Here is a list of the countries which attach prohibitions:

• National prohibition to use any animal in circuses: Cyprus, Greece, Malta and Bolivia.
  
• National prohibition to use wild animals in circuses: Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Slovenia, Colombia, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Singapore, Israël, Mexico.
  
• National prohibition to use most of wild animals in circuses: Belgium, Bulgaria, Holland.
  
• National prohibition to use certain species in circuses: Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, Portugal, Sweden and India.
  
• National prohibition to use wild endemic animal species: Equador
  
• National prohibition to use animals born in nature in circuses: Estonia, Hungary, Poland.
  
• Local prohibitions to use animals in circuses: Ireland, Norway, Spain, United Kingdom, United States of America, Canada, Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Australia.
  

Despite some local initiatives, the United States are at the bottom of the ranking and unfortunately have a long way to go. France does not even appear in this ranking.

The "Code animal" have written the first decree and made the first French city move. It’s initiative allowed the movement to grow fast over the past few years. On March 13, 2018, 91 French cities (23 of them exceeding 20 000 inhabitants), said no to circuses with animals.

The cities above either adopted a decree, or took counsel, or made a wish. Several decisions taken by some cities have been canceled by the Prefecture or the administrative tribunal. Yet, those cities are still opposed to the concept of animals in circuses.

Amiens was part of the example a couple of years ago. What about today ?
