The salmon farming industry is growing fast, but its expansion comes at a terrible cost: the systematic killing of seals. These animals are not enemies, but vital parts of the marine ecosystem.
Instead of resorting to lethal methods, salmon farms must adopt responsible and sustainable solutions that protect wildlife and the environment.
Seals are often shot or trapped simply because they try to access fish farms, but these practices are cruel, ineffective, and damaging to biodiversity.
We call on governments, companies, and consumers to:
Ban the killing of seals related to salmon farms.
Support and fund innovative, non-lethal seal deterrents such as improved net designs, acoustic repellents, and monitoring technology.
Implement strict regulations and independent oversight on fish farming practices.
Promote consumer awareness about the environmental and ethical impact of farmed salmon.
Protecting seals means protecting our oceans. We cannot allow profit to justify cruelty.
