The water in the Cove is turning red again.
In the final, desperate weeks of the hunting season, Taiji hunters have just driven a massive "super-pod" of over 50 striped dolphins into the killing bay.
Guardians on the ground report a scene of absolute chaos. The hunters are currently separating the panicked family groups behind tarpaulins to hide their actions from the world.
This is a systematic extermination. The adults are being stabbed to death with metal spikes, thrashing in their own blood while their family members watch. Even worse, the juveniles too small for meat are being dumped back into the open ocean without their mothers.
These orphans will not survive. They will die of starvation, stress, or predation within days. Japan tries to call this "tradition," but the world sees it for what it is: a brutal, commercial slaughter that violates all animal welfare standards.
We demand an immediate suspension. The season is scheduled to end in March, but we cannot wait. We call on the Japanese Government to intervene immediately to release the remaining dolphins in the holding nets.
Do not let this super-pod be wiped out. End the hunt now.
