With this petition, I wish to protest against the illegal trafficking of species in the Amazon.
This company is considered to be the fourth most lucrative in the world with figures of 23 trillion dollars.
In the Amazon, there is a strong trade in live animals, offering animal parts and also meat for human consumption.
Live animals are used as pets or as attractions for circuses and restaurants while animal parts such as fur, feathers, leather, and fangs are used by the fashion industry, by crafts, and by traditional medicine.
The consumption of wild animal meat by indigenous communities is allowed; however, human conglomerates have increased through migration and therefore hunting is excessive today and leads to the risk of wildlife extinction. Nearly 300 species are endangered, including tortoises, parrots and monkeys
.Do not forget that contact between wild animals and humans increases the risk of potentially dangerous diseases such as COVID-19.
Therefore, for all the reasons explained above, I am asking you to put an end to wildlife trafficking in the Amazon.
