VICTORY FOR MAURICE!

Thanks to your incredible mobilization and the determined action of the Stéphane LAMART association, Maurice the wild boar is saved!

After several weeks of waiting and concern, a respectful and secure solution has finally been found: Maurice will be welcomed in a large natural property in Seine-et-Marne, with a passionate veterinarian who will take care of him with kindness.

Maurice will neither be shot nor euthanized.

He will be able to live freely, in peace, surrounded by attention and respect.

A huge thank you to Stéphane Lamart for his courage, to Jeremstar for his mobilization and role as godfather, to the town hall of Villeneuve-le-Roi for its compassion, and to everyone who signed and shared this petition.

You have once again proven that solidarity and kindness can save lives.

Maurice is today the symbol of a greater hope: that of a world where compassion always prevails.

Exhausted, hunted down and promised certain death, the young wild boar Maurice owes his life today to the compassion of Stéphane Lamart and Jeremstar, two people deeply committed to the defense of animals.

On October 13, while returning home, Stéphane Lamart saw a small wild boar lying in a ditch on the side of a road in Villecresnes (Val-de-Marne). The animal is injured, exhausted, probably chased by hunting dogs. However, he does not flee. Stéphane approaches, and against all odds, the wild boar stands up and follows him, docile, like a faithful dog.

He followed me like a dog follows his owner. I could not let him die or hand him over to the hunters,” he said

.

Quickly baptized Maurice, the young wild boar was curious, calm and disarmingly gentle. Everything suggests that he has been tamed, probably taken in by someone before being lost again. Touched by this encounter, Stéphane decides to save him and calls his friend Jeremstar, who is also an animal defender. Together, they do everything they can to protect Maurice.

We cannot remain indifferent to the cruelty of certain hunting practices. This animal did not deserve to die for the simple pleasure of killing,” explains Jeremstar

.

In accordance with the law, the animal was taken care of for examination. He has been treated, castrated, identified by a microchip and tested for several diseases, to ensure that he does not represent any health risk. But despite all these efforts, the law still considers it to be a wildlife species that is likely to cause damage.

This absurd status makes Mauritius a “forbidden” animal, condemned to euthanasia simply because it does not fall into administrative boxes

.

Fortunately, the town hall of Villeneuve-le-Roi, touched by its history, agreed to temporarily welcome Maurice into a secure municipal park. Its mayor, Didier Gonzales, has chosen compassion: “It's a dog that follows you everywhere”, he confides.

Thanks to this courageous decision, Maurice is now alive, quarantined until a solution is found

.

A request for a prefectural exemption was filed to allow him to join a shelter or a specialized veterinarian in Seine-et-Marne, where he could live peacefully on several hectares of land. But without this derogation, Mauritius will be euthanized. All this, simply because he was born a wild boar and had the misfortune to love humans

.

Mauritius is not a danger. It is a sociable, cheerful animal that seeks contact and tenderness. He doesn't deserve to die, he deserves a chance.
This is a story about a fight for life, for compassion, for common sense. It reminds us that laws should never ignore the heart.

Sign to save Maurice.

Let's help Stéphane Lamart, Jeremstar and the town hall of Villeneuve-le-Roi to offer him the right to

live.
