My name is Ola, I am Franco-Polish, and part of my family still lives in Krakow. Since I was a child, I have crossed the Rynek Główny in wonder. The facades, the musicians, the atmosphere are unique in this city that I love deeply.
But one image disturbs me every time I have to return. That of the horses pulling carriages for tourists.
As a child, I found it charming.
Today, I mainly see the fatigue in their eyes, the long hours of work, the crushing heat or the biting cold they have to endure. Some horses collapse, others struggle to breathe in a city saturated with traffic.
Krakow is a vibrant city, looking towards the future. It can no longer accept a practice that relies on animal suffering, while many metropolises like Barcelona, Montreal, or Rome have already taken measures to protect horses.
I am writing this petition today so that together we can demand:
I am launching this petition out of love for Krakow and respect for these horses who never chose this life.
Please join your voice to mine so that the world becomes aware of the suffering these animals endure, so that carriages are permanently banned from our way of life and the beauty of Krakow ❤️
