Abolish inbreeding: no to the extinction of pedigree dogs

Dear signatories,

This petition is addressed to the Fédération Cynologique Internationale and the Société Centrale Canine but also to political figures.

You are probably aware of basic reproduction from dog breeding.

The first victims are cats. Abandonment has continued to increase.
The more animals are more fragile, the more money and resources are needed to keep dogs living healthily.

Regarding dogs:

These are the breeds of dogs that are affected by inbreeding, promoted and valued by breed standards.

Following further studies on the effects of inbreeding, we can affirm that inbreeding has to stop, before things get worse.

Summary:

- Genetic diseases and hereditary defects are on the increase. Sizes are dropping but also reducing immune defences, declining fertility, reducing longevity and putting at risk unusually aggressive descendants.
- Stillborn births
- Malformations ranging from mild to severe

Inbreeding promotes the death of dog breeding!
